Application and reflection of ultrasound-guided vacuum assisted breast biopsy in two-person operation(report of 5867 cases)

Abstract: Objective To summarize the application experience and value of ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy with double operation.Methods Review the preoperative general conditions,postoperative pathology and postoperative complications of the patients in 5867 patients,analyze some problem and summary experience when utilize vacuum assisted breast biopsy surgery in practice.Results 5867 patients were included.average age of(35.77±11.08)years,average lump size(1.97±0.89)cm,a total number of lesions were 16 832.Postoperative pathology showed benign tumor in 4893 cases (92.00%),atypical hyperplasia in 264 cases(4.80%),ductal carcinoma in situ in 124 cases(2.12%),invasive breast cancer in 68 cases(1.16%),phyllodes tumour in 4 cases(0.07%),inflammatory lesions in 78 cases(1.42%),simple adenopathy and  duct dilation in  50 patients(0.91%).The most common postoperative complications were painful hematoma and subcutaneous ecchymosis.There are 1125 cases(20.5%) and 482 cases(8.8%),respectively.Moderately-severe pain in 323 cases(5.90%),delayed wound healing in 5 cases(0.09%),skin damage in 9 cases(0.16%),skin sag in 175 cases(3.20%).Tumor residual recurrence in 449 cases(8.2%),change to traditional to open surgery midway in 3 cases(0.05%).No incisions or deep tissue infections were found.Conclusion The mode of twoperson operation ultrasoundguided vacuum assisted breast biopsy is simple and efficient.
